The images makes the issue more immediate. The aborted foetus/baby is well developed and very recognisable as a human being. Also, what has influenced my thinking is the word of God. God’s work begins in the womb. Also, the practice of abortion today is hypocritically at odds with the initial argument of proponents. eg. rape, health of mother at risk. Once the door was slightly open, the argument changed to convenience (pro-women’s choice), hence millions upon millions of abortions today. Also hypocritical is pro-choice wording. Neither the father nor the unborn child have any choice in the pregnancy being carried through, only the woman. Pro-choice is actually pro-women’s choice, to the exclusion of everyone elses. At the very least, the law should allow willing fathers to take custody of the child once born, so the argument about unwanted children can be pushed back. I am against abortion in nearly all instances, especially as contraception is so widely available. It’s ironic that the countries in which abortions are so prevalent, are also those countries that are carpet-bombing their citizens with sex education, contraception and moral relativism. I admire your organisation taking a stand.
